単語力

Reading Assignmentがあるので、教科書を読んで行くが、知らない単語が多すぎる。

契約書の単語とはちがうんだなぁということを今更ながらに実感。

Day of Service

昨日よりOrientation開始。

本日は、Day of Serviceということで、Talcott Elementary Schoolというところにボランティアに。

夏休みの間にたまった郵便物・文房具等の配送物の仕分け、机の清掃、教室に刺さっている押しピンの回収等等を行う。

この学校の生徒のほぼ100％がラテンアメリカからの移民で、進学率等も悪かったが近年急激に改善しているそう。

 

机の掃除とか生徒にやらせればいいと思うけど、体を動かしての作業はなかなか気持ちがよかった。

 

LLM生は卒業までに15時間のこういうCommunity Serviceを行うことになっているようで、あと3回位はこういう機会が巡ってくることになる。

 

 

 

 

とりあえず

到着。朝着の便のため、ホテルにチェックアウトできず。

とりあえず登録と学生証を入手。

軽い頭痛。

I-20の手続きが終わったとの連絡あり。
